Majahuitas as well as Caletas and Cerro Bola is one of the best places to practice diving. This site is located between Los Arcos and Yelapa, 10 nautical miles from Puerto Vallarta. Here the Sierra Madre Mountains sink into the Pacific Ocean creating small shallow caves, huge boulders, pinnacles, and slope bottoms. In these waters, to an approximate depth between 10 ft. to 60 ft., they inhabit enormous amounts of marine life and biodiversity. Although there are not many coral formations in the area, the amount of marine life in this ecosystem is impressive, among the species that we can observe in this site are: hundreds of shy garden eels live in the sand slope bottoms, the largest school of yellow tail surgeon fish, clouds of damsels surrounding the huge boulders, eagle rays feeding of the sandy bottoms, octopus, sea horses, green turtles, and more.
Majahuita Punta Norte (Majahuita North Point), Majahuita Punta Sur (Majahuita south Point), Cerro Bola, Punta Cerro Bola, Colomitos, Caletillas (small cove), Caletas (The Coves), and Colimilla are some of the coves we can pick to scuba dive and snorkel.
